# TOP-63, $36.00 40% Discount - Sale Price $21.60
Dims: 2.99x2.54x1.47in (7.60x6.45x3.75cm) .... Wt: 5.9oz (168g) .... Loc: Thomas Range, Utah, USA
This complex specimen appears to me to be a chunk of calcite most of which has been disolved away with acid, exposing (in places) a fine druze of quartz crystals, some black crystals that look like hematite, and at least twenty golden topaz crystals, most of which are quite small. The largest is, unfortunately, coated with a quartz druse, but the second largest is free of such coatings and presents nicely.
# TOP-62, $40.00 Sold!
Dims: 1.83x0.98x0.73in (4.66x2.49x1.85cm) .... Wt: 0.64oz (18.0g) .... Loc: Thomas Range, Utah, USA
I like this specimen! A cavity in the host rock (a tiny cathedral geode) contains two intergrown golden topaz crystals, accompanied by a druze of flat plates of something I can't identify. They are colorless, very thin, with pyramidal terminations, and remind me somewhat of wulfenite or barite, but colorless and in any case those minerals aren't known from the Thomas Range mines. A black crystal looks more like hematite OR ilmenite than bixbyite, but I can't be certain of its identity.
# TOP-61, $54.00 Sold!
Dims: 1.23x0.74x0.51in (3.13x1.89x1.30cm) .... Wt: 0.320oz (9.00g) .... Loc: Thomas Range, Utah, USA
This is a moderately tall golden topaz crystal, although the bottom two-thirds is completely obscured by many white inclusions. The top of the crystal is nearly perfect, and a half-dozen smaller crystals are attached roughly half-way up, and increase the appeal of this specimen.
# TOP-60, $45.00 Sold!
Dims: 0.95x0.46x0.28in (2.42x1.16x0.72cm) .... Wt: 0.280oz (8.00g) .... Loc: Thomas Range, Utah, USA
This is an excellent crystal of golden topaz. Without a loupe, I see no damage at all, although only the top third of the crystal shows great color and clarity - the bottom two-thirds are clouded by inclusions of possibly gray-toned quartz.
