GABBRO Gabbro is a plutonic igneous rock with the same mineral composition as basalt. However, as a plutonic rock it cooled much more slowly, resulting in a coarse grained texture. The majority of the Earth's crust (the oceanic crust) consists of gabbro produced at mid-ocean ridges.Gabbro is dense, greenish or dark gray. |
