We are especially interested in suggestions for improving our service, including corrections to our mineral descriptions, additional minerals that we should include, or terminology changes that would make the full text search feature even more useful.
We are generally not interested in purchasing specimens from individuals: we buy our minerals from reputable importers, wholesalers, and miners, and we have hand picked most of our specimens. We only buy large lots (barrels) of commodity items such as quartz clusters, agate geodes, amethyst plates, amethyst geodes, and bookends (of agate, amethyst, petrified wood, fluorite, copper, etc.).
WE NEED PHOTOGRAPHS OF MINERAL SPECIMENS! We are interested in improving the quality of the images of representative specimens on our mineral pages, and we also lack some specimens. If you own a specimen, or have an uncopyrighted image of a good specimen (preferably that you own or have owned), please send a large, high quality image to us, 320x240 or larger is best. We need an accurate mineral identification, preferably with the mineral's source location identified. If we use your image, we'll credit you at the bottom of the page. Please do NOT send us images copied from any book. Note that the best images may be obtained with a 35mm camera and Kodak's PhotoCD process, or a 5 (or more) megapixel CCD camera in HIGHEST QUALITY mode.
